Id like to mention, for all those with an admiration for Copiapoa.
Theres been a buzz in the air for the past few days about the new description of 2 new Copiapoas.
They have been described by Ingrid Schaub & Ricardo Keim (Salutes smiling smiley) in the latest Cactus & Co. No1 2009

They are
Copiapoa coquimbana ssp. andina
Copiapoa schulziana

Both plants are already pictured in Rudolf Schulz's 'Copiapoa 2006' book
for those who have it.

I can offer a couple of pics now, owned by me. (not copied from elsewhere).

Copiapoa schulziana, (Near the sea, West of Domeyko) Not a typical plant pictured here, This is a small one just showing large fruits,
plants can be 900mm long and have few offsets.

Very cool!
I heard about these at the CSSA convention. Rudolph Shulz had them in his presentation. I gave him my email address to forward to somebody having the v. andina seeds (maybe it was Ricardo?) but have not heard anything yet.

Is there a public place where you can read a description about these plants?

Great. Hope they stay under this classification for at least another year. winking smiley
I'll bet there's more new plants to uncover, as well.
Those are nice!
